The first Integrated ChoreoLAB: Pavillion Dance's response to the lack of development and choreographic opportunities for artists working in integrated dance

Integrated ChoreoLAB - April 7-11th 2014

Pavilion Dance South West, South East Dance and GDance are working in partnership to deliver the first Integrated ChoreoLAB in April 2014, responding to the lack of development and choreographic opportunities for artists working in integrated dance.

The LAB is an opportunity for three artists to experiment with ideas, test possibilities or develop new work for a week whilst providing a safe space to debate the needs/wants of the sector. We will also offer the opportunity for artists to bring in a collaborator/mentor of their choice to add value to their creative process. Creative producers from PDSW and SED will also spend time in the studio with the artists, giving feedback and advice on process, current work and research.

Alongside an informal sharing at the end of the LAB week, the artists will get the opportunity to present up to 15 minutes of their work as part of the Integrated Dance Summit (16th and 17th May 2014 at Pavilion Dance) to an invited audience of venue promoters and programmers from across the country.

In addition, discussions will take place with the artists about how they may develop opportunities for their work to move forwards, where possible encouraging partnerships and relationships in the area where that artist is based.

Each artist will receive a budget to cover fees, collaborators and expenses.
