Merry Christmas from
GDance Productions!
2016 has been
another busy year of productions and projects…
In
April, we delivered the Primary Ballet research project as part of 'Dance Unstuck', a project which
addresses accessibility of ballet for physically disabled people.
Our
disabled associate artists had a choreographic residency with Hilary Westlake
as Mentor & worked with the BTEC students of Linda Virgoe Academy as
dancers. The pieces were performed at
Strike a Light Festival in Gloucester.
We
worked with a professional and community cast to develop Lost & Found, performed at Gloucester
Carnival in July with live rap artist, Taiko drummers & a horse.
‘I’m Controlling It’ was
released – a Diabetes focused dance film co-produced through the NHS
Gloucestershire CCG. Read more about
this here.
Our
community cast transformed to Urban Youth!
One of their performances was at Gloucester Cathedral for the NHS Health
and Social Care Awards!
We can’t wait for
2017 when we will be…
Launching
our ‘Urban Youth Project’ - find out how you can get involved here.
Delivering
the second phase of Dance Unstuck – this year we are focusing on the inclusive
teaching of Primary & Grade 4 Ballet.
Sharing
and developing inclusive practice in Gloucestershire through the Arts Council
England 'Elevate'
fund.
Working
with our professional cast for Lost & Found 2017/18.
…we look forward to sharing this with
you next year!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year - thank you for your continued support!
